Pickleball and Brains

You might not expect to find a possible miracle in the latest sports craze sweeping the nation. If you haven’t tried pickleball yet, I highly recommend it. A truly social sport, it’s accessible to all physical and ability levels. I had the fun of chatting with Life Time Inc’s CEO Bahram Akradi on The Crisis Files™ podcast about why he and his athletic country clubs are all-in on pickleball. He says, “When you can make exercise and entertainment merge, the probability of sticking with it goes up.” Another reason I was keen to get Bahram’s insights is because of the reports and studies connecting the neuromuscular coordination needed in racquet sports like tennis to a slowdown of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
